Buying guitars pedals synths & amps
If you’re looking for the absolute maximum return on selling your guitar we offer a consignment, sale or return service. We’ll display your guitar in-store, on our website and socials, show it and ship it to customers, getting it sold for you as fast as possible, providing you with a better proportion of the final sale value than you can get selling it to any store directly. If you decide that you want to keep your guitar after all then you can take it back with no charge to you at all (subject to T&Cs)
We cannot! We can only authenticate instruments in-person at our store by conducting a thorough inspection. The private market is swimming with forgeries and scams, it is very common for unsavoury individuals to pose as ‘unwitting sellers’ of vintage instruments (See “I found this old Gibson in my late father’s attic, don’t know what it’s worth”) in order to scam you out of your hard-earned cash. Remember; if it looks too good to be true, IT PROBABLY IS! If you are buying vintage please do your research first or just buy from a store that you can trust.
Storing guitars that are not being played is not as simple as it seems. Guitars are made of wood and as such are vulnerable to moisture exposure. The stress placed on the guitar’s neck and soundboard (in the case of acoustics), combined with moisture in the air making the timber more pliable, can seriously warp it over time. If you are going to store a guitar (particularly an acoustic guitar) for more than a few weeks then please release the string tension (ie detune it) before storage. Make sure that you don’t store it anywhere too damp and add a silica gel sachet to the case (we would also recommend loosening the truss rod, but only if you feel confident in using it!). If you are storing many guitars, potentially for a long period of time, then feel free to get in touch for specific advice or assistance. Many a guitar has been ruined through improper storage and we wouldn’t want that to be yours!
